Born in Chadwell Heath, London on 27 March, 1988, Jessie began at 11 years in show business. She appeared in a West End production of Whistle Down the Wind by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Six years later she wrote her first song, Big White Room, which has become something of a signature piece for her. Later she studied musical theater at the renowned BRITS academy. While her life seems like a big adventure she will be quick to admit that she had a very ordinary life as the youngest of three children of a mother who worked as a nursery school teacher while her father was a social worker. She describes her family as “creative” though she was the only one who showed an interest in performing. She had signed on with the now-defunct Gut Records, having fallen to bankruptcy. She now has a publishing arrangement with SONY ATV and shows great promise as a writer. Her song, Sexy Silk, was picked by Nivea for a campaign. She has also written for Chris Brown and Lisa Lois who won the Holland X Factor competition. Miley Cyrus was responsible for making Jessie J's song, Party In The USA, a number one hit on iTunes.
